I’m trying to create a menu in wordpress. There are usually a list of pages to chose from under the "view all" tab (such as blog, contact, about etc). These options are not appearing under the view all tab. Any idea as to why or how I can add a page without those options?

Mike, this tutorial really shows me how to maximize the power of the twenty fourteen theme.  I viewed another video here on you tube, but it was nowhere near as in depth, as helpful as this one.  Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to viewing your other video post.

    Hi Mike,

Getting on grand till I came to the child theme at 22:36.¬† I have different hosting, but went into public_html where all the WP files are, not as neat as your picture.¬† Anyway, created a new folder, from your website chose the ‘centre’ version of the css and uploaded it to the new folder.¬† Not seeing any option in Themes for the ‘new’ child theme, tried putting the style.css file direct into public_html, still nothing – now stuck ūüôĀ¬† Can you help, suggestion welcome.¬† I’m a Joomla girl, but trying WP for a change.

Hi Mike, I’m watching your video to build my website. Following right along with a screen open on my WP website.¬† I just did exactly what you instructed with the Easy Social Icon plug-in, and the icons do not appear on my "view site." So, I thought maybe I need to copy and paste the code in the Text mode instead of the Visual mode.¬† But neither worked.¬† Any idea why?¬† Also, I cannot activate the EWWW plug in, because I get a message that it uses a list of¬† all kinds of . (dot) extensions and the theme does not have them?¬† I have just installed the current 2014 theme.¬† Thank you.¬†

    HI Mike!

Thanks for the great video. Absolutely love it as I am learning so much!

Do you have any recommendation as to what plug-in I could use to replace Twenty Fourteen Extended?? ¬†I want to change the design of the front and cannot find another way to do this… Aside from coding which I have no experience in. Thanks for the videos. Keep them coming!¬†

Great video… thanks for saving me so much time in learning the basics.¬† I’m trying to put together a site where the left sidebar menu¬†has different content depending on what’s selected in the horizontal top menu.¬† For example, if the user chooses something like "About Us" then there will be a list of links related to ¬†different topics related to "About Us" showing up in the left sidebar menu.¬†¬† Each link would display a different¬†page.¬† Is this doable with this theme, or should I be taking a different approach?

Hi Mike! So after looking at Bing webmaster tools its showing I have multiple H1 tags. I think its hindering my SEO. Can you tell me how to change the code so it reads <article> so I don’t have to demote my post but not taking away from the Header? Hope this makes sense

Mike – This was awesome. ¬†Thanks for doing this. ¬†Now I’m excited to get my website up and running.

I have a question about the TinyMCE Plugin. ¬†I added some of the buttons to the toolbar, but when I view the toolbars, I don’t see the Icons (They’re invisible). ¬†If I hover over the empty spaces, the icon text appear and if I click on the empty space where the text is it will work, but the icon itself doesn’t show up. ¬†Any ideas?

    Hi
I have been trying to follow your tutorial.  Problem is the WP software often does not show the same screens/options as your examples, e.g. I cannot change themes, I have no Plugin option and the Widget option looks completely different to the what I assume as plugins.  I am using the 2012 template but at times it looks like a different system!!  Any thoughts thank you

    Hi Mike
I have signed up with hostgator and been through the WordPress installation.  When I follow the link to access the site (sent by WordPress) I get the message

    Not Found

The requested URL /wp-admin was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request

I waited some time before trying to access the site, which shows it ‘exists’ through HostGator but I must have messed up somewhere. ¬†I used the quick install which went through fine. ¬†Technical stuff> any lead you can help with. ¬†Thanks

As a complete beginner I tried to watch potions of this video and then attempt to make that section of my new site. I did find it difficult with the various plugins that you mention but have a popup stating they are no longer valid. Going to your website, downloading the .zip files, and trying to install them didn’t work well for me.
