Learn how to create a forum in WordPress

In this video I show you, how you can easily setup a forum for your WordPress website with just a couple of clicks. A forum is a really great way to get people engaged on your WordPress website. Your visitors are able to ask and answer themselves without to much guidance from your site. BBPress can be set up with just a number of shortcodes and it already looks professional without any further customisation.

I forgot to mention in the video that you will also need the “WP Tweak” Plugin to add the BBPress Sidebar widget. You can get it here:

I hope you learn something in this video. If so, please like and share this video and also Subscribe to my Channel 🙂

You can download the free BBPress Plugin for WordPress here:

hi jonas. I am having problems with the sidebar function. I have followed your steps all the way but i still could not make the log in and register function. I have downloaded both the bbpress and bbpress wp tweaks plugin. I am using a theme called the tesseract theme. Was wondering if this is suitable. Really appreciate your advise. Thanks.

    please help me
Ive setup the forum and have the register link in the widget setup properly. My test profile was able to register and receive an activation email. But when/if I log out and try to sign back in using the BBPress Login Widget, after I click “login” it takes me to the wordpress login?
Is this how the login is supposed to work? Is there a way to login using the widget that doesnt prompt them to login with wordpress?
Why after clicking on “login” does it take the user to another login screen and just log them in on that same page?

i got a question, hope you can help me…does it possible to make the top black bar (which is wordpress dashboard) disappear after visitor registered and login? not admin but visitor, the top bar still needed to show up after admin log into it because only admin allowed to change the website details. (FYI, admin refers to me, visitor refers to people other than me).

Why did my forum tab turn red with "invalid" written over it in the menu section? I was editing the forum topics prior to this happening. Prior it was fine and it showed up on my menu bar on my home page, but I removed the page from my menu and obviously that caused it to be removed from my menu. How do I add the forum back to the menu?

  37. Kim Appeltans April 26, 2017 at 9:59 pm - Reply

good tutorial! I think its easier to not make new pages for registration or lost password, but just put them via shortcodes in the sidebar too.
