Easy Villager Trading Hall Tutorial with Zombie Discounts | Simply Minecraft (Java Edition 1.16)

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

In this tutorial I show you how to build a simple villager trading hall. In fact we have two different variations. The first is ultra simple and will work for all players. The second includes a zombie which allows for big discounts in your trading prices. This version is only really useful for players on hard difficulty as in easier modes, zombies may kill the villagers. This trading halls are a variation on my previous design but we’ve made it even easier to build. No complex redstone or rail systems just nice and easy.

Can I build it larger? So if like if I want a ton more villagers can I do that? And for the u shape are the zombie areas connected? So like can one zombie walk all the way around the u if he wants too?

    1. does only skylight get a zombie to burn?
    2. I could also use regular pistons and sand for the bottom row, right ?

You can just put a name tag on the zombie to make it not DE-spawn…

5:54 Never thought of putting a slab on top of the workstation, tysm! I have made a couple trading halls in the past and profession cycling has always been a pain, sometimes involving (short-lived) escapades.

Hey, so i'm having problems with this. the villagers don't go to the stations by themselves, i have to push them in. and if i break their workstation they get attracted to another nearby one so i have ti break that one and then place one in front of them. any simple solution?

ps: is there a way to keep them in their area after breaking the station without putting a slab or trapdoor ontop? thanks 🙂

Oh man, this video came out at the same time we built our villager trader hall and this design is WAYYY more simple and efficient. Totally needed this then. Well its time for a retrofit. Thanks for a great video.

No matter what direction they come in for me, they are always ejected from the minecart onto the lever…

  25. Duncan January 16, 2021 at 11:47 am - Reply

i found the string was unreliable, like they were getting tripped somehow and leaving stairs extended, maybe after going through nether portals
just put a lever on the observer instead and manually extend the piston

Note: if you foolishly built this outside like I did, place trapdoors in front of the stairs right next to your workstations to prevent other zombies from attacking your villagers, and build a glass platform above the hall with 4 blocks of air between the hall and platform to prevent your villagers from being struck by lightning and becoming witches
I learned this the hard way, don't repeat my mistakes
