Can’t get Divi builder to work. It has installed but get this message.
    Divi Builder Timeout
Oops, it looks like the Divi Builder failed to load. Performing the following actions may help solve the problem.
    1. You are using third party plugins. Try disabling each plugin to see if one is causing a conflict.

Great video. Never done this before and it’s helped A LOT! I have a question about CSS for tablet and mobile. I can’t seem to figure out how to disable or change just the CSS code on tablet and mobile. Anytime I change the look of it in the tablet or mobile view, it changes it on the desktop and I can’t find the icon to just change it without affecting the desktop. I’d rather fix it so it looks optimized on those platforms and not have to delete from my site. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, again, for the great video!

hi, Darrel, why CSS codes do not work which I enter? the CSS codes of changing background color and shape. (content:""; display: block; height:100%; position: absolute;……)

  17. Fidel Torres April 26, 2017 at 9:34 pm - Reply

If you want to change color go [HEX TO RGB](
from RGB to RGBAis the same numbers but A IS the opacity of that color.

    HEX: #1CB0F7
    RGB: rgb(28,176,247)
    RGBA: rgba(28,176,247, X) whereX is a float from 0 …. 1 ie: 0.25 OR 0.5

    Thanks. time 1:22:35

Dear all, since the vid is 3 hours long, I would like to ask if it covers the entire (step-by-step) process of building the divi theme into a custom website?

Edit: he says that in the 1st sentence of the video, but again, your feedback is much appreciated

Hi Darrel, I followed your instructions and the navigation bar did not show up on the Home page. It turned out that I had to Edit the Home page and choose Page Attributes: default template. Also, I didn’t want the word "Home" to show up in the navigation bar so I deleted it from the Menu.

Is there any benefit with Divi over Weebly or Wix? My focus lies on ease of use, low maintenance (plugin updates etc.) and security… i also want to add a digitial goods shop. Currently prefer Weebly. Ideas anyone?

I have been using the Divi theme since watching your first few videos and have a great style however when i run a GTMetrix test then the grade of my site is poor. Any thoughts on how to improve it?

I already use the W3 Total Cache plugin and it helped but now is seems my main issue is 4.2MiB of JavaScript is parsed during initial page load. Defer parsing JavaScript to reduce blocking of page rendering.

    Defer parsing of JavaScript

I am sort of stuck on this one, any thoughts?

    For some reasons unknown to me, Darell, this code: content:””; display: block; height: 100%; position: absolute; top: 0; left: ; width: 107%; background-image: linear-gradient( -100deg, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) 0%, rgba(00, 0, 0, 0) 55%, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.7) 55%, rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5) 55%) is not working. What could be the problem?

Hi Darrel – many thanks for this great video. Quick question: at 7:18 you say that you "cannot stress enough that nothing is in the Directory box. However, my set up process (via BlueHost and WordPress) did not seem to involve this particular page (unless I’ve since forgotten about it). And neither did my set up involve "sofilicious app installer". Please could you let me know how I find out that the Directory box is indeed un-ticked, as you made clear that it’s important that it is. Many thanks!
