Great video. I use Oanda also. I know you used metatrader in the past, which do you like better? I love your podcasts too by the way. Keep em coming.

Nope, one reason to use Metatrader for charting.

Thanks for the great video.I like the Oanda FX Trade platform but I do not use it because there is no option to create a template of a chart and then apply it to other charts. You have to create separate profiles for each (which in this case means sub accounts) which is too much work.It is a real shame because other than for this issue I would use it all day long.

Thanks so much. I am on demo.Don’t know how to exit one trade when I have several open. Realize it is just a button to push but which one Also is it possible to insure trades. If yes how?

So what is the smallest amout which i could open a position 100 units or 1 units?
Becouse if you have small account with a coupe of hundres of $ is could be very usefull to exit or enter the positions partially. Another brokers have a bad reputation about less then 1000 units of execution…

I’ve just watched some of your Vids and they all are not only just helpful but also very informative as well. Thank you for your efforts on making these great Vids for a guy like me. I am really glad to know that I can come back again for another Vids of yours. I use FXTrade, OANDA. I do like their chart’s layout but one problem I have with it personally is that I still don’t know how to take portion of profit on my on-going position, without closing whole position out of market.

    Hello Hugh-

Wanted to thank you for the great Forex videos, especially the interviews. Quality stuff. I had a question, in fxtrade is there a way to review completed trades on the chart? I want to see the stops, etc post trade. Also If I want to partially exit my trades at different points, how is this best accomplished. I just finished "forex patterns and probabilities" by Ed Ponsi and this seems to be his main trading method. I appreciate the help and will keep coming back.
    Thanks!

Hugh, @ 15:30 you said that "charting on Oanda is pretty crappy, so I don’t use indicators". Can you expand on that? By which I mean, why do you suggest indicators are useless with Oanda’s charts?

    Thanks

Thanks so much for this helpful video! Just what I was looking for.

  35. Trading Heroes - Forex Trading Education May 20, 2017 at 10:14 pm - Reply

Thanks Erin, glad you like them. There isn’t a way to see closed trades, but you can partial exit. It depends on how you enter. If you enter all at once, then just do the opposite trade for a partial amount. For example, buy 1,000 units of EURUSD. To exit, just sell 100 units (or whatever) to partial exit. If you enter in parts, make sure you use different lot sizes (change by at least 1 unit), so you can close them at will or you need to close oldest first (yeah, weird). Try in demo first.

  38. tankersmit May 20, 2017 at 10:17 pm - Reply

Thank you very much.  Actually the problem for me is the units!!!  I know what my risk % is ( 2% 0.66/pip) but I just don’t understand what we have to enter exactly in the units box.   Please, please can you do a video  (I’m particularly looking for an Oanda demo user to explain.)  Thanks Tania
