u actually have a clear voice and good mic and the way you deliver words compared to other tutorials online. No it's not your american accent even though that does help a bit but it's finally a relief to find someone who actually knows how to define terms in simple ways for most of us to understand. you get my upvote.

Why do you extend JFrame. There really is no need to do so, right?

hey Bucky is this peer-to-peer architecture or client/server architecture? +[thenewboston]

  19. Álefe Lucas November 19, 2019 at 12:00 am - Reply

I tried merging the two projects (client and server).

I did an abstract superclass InstantMessenger for both containing the methods in common. Server extends InstantMessenger.
I implemented method startRunning and waitForConnection

the thing is, when I run the program, it crashes, the frame is all white, without the textfield and stuff, I can't close the window normally

Great tutorial, worked on something similar at school and this helped a lot. Currently working on a multi-player game that uses sockets for networking communications, its working but their is a significant and constant lag when clients connect from separate machines. Is their any alterations or other methods that would be preferable over this that would provide the speed I require?
