Oh, my god, I miss VB and Lazarus. It's really boring to set the GUI with Java. Why Java? Why are you making it so difficult?

I know this may be a stupid question, but do you have a main class set up in the other tab "apples.java"? Or can I build this program with no main class as shown here?

  10. Jason Miller December 3, 2019 at 12:16 am - Reply

i get how all this works. But i coudnt build this program like bucky without googling a bunch of source code

Thank you for the helpful videos
I have a question: can we make anonymous class in this code instead of making separate handledr class?

I'm having this issue the mousepanel and the statusbar are not placed correctly
I have both add(mousepanel, BorderLayout.CENTER); add(statusbar, BorderLayout.SOUTH); but both are placed on top  and the mousepanel is so small and is moved by the text from the statusbar..

Don't worry about using java.awt.;  and other . on imports. go ahead and use them, however, when your finished with programing your program, simply delete ALL of them, and press Cntrl+shft+o and poof, all the proper imports are there with out using meaningless imports 😀

If you keep getting errrors for no reason and you copied from the video, try adding the name of your package to the top of the class:
    (for example)
    package maarten;
    My programs all run now.

When I was in college… my teacher literally put me to sleep in Computer Science… he droned on and on and on about pointless crap. I quite literally fell asleep in his classes.

That's also why I'm now having to learn from a guy online. Who does it 100000x better than my teacher did anyway. Keep up the good work Bucky!

  45. afdsadf 147852369 December 3, 2019 at 12:16 am - Reply

Could you also do this in the same class as the constructor is in, like instead of mousepanel.addActionListener(handler); (Handlerclass handler = new Handlerclass(); ) and having Handlerclass implement ActionListener you could do mousepanel.addActionListener(this); and have Gui implement ActionListener and extend JFrame?

  46. afdsadf 147852369 December 3, 2019 at 12:16 am - Reply

LOL 😀 Keep it going guys!

  47. afdsadf 147852369 December 3, 2019 at 12:16 am - Reply

So super("title"); sends the String "title" to the constructor of the [super]class? You explained that better than my camp teacher…

  48. Faustodc December 3, 2019 at 12:16 am - Reply
