There is a reason why all programmers seem to start with displaying (screen – display is printing in coding)  the "Hello World!" message. In 1965, America had newly opened it's doors to open immigration at the time of Presidetn Lyndon Johnson. Even then, there were thousands of programmers , born in America using older large mainframe systems. Young men and boys doing programming , like friends of Bill gates and Steve Jobs, or of their modern era, were of college age, and started creating DOS systems or Apple Mac systems for micro or desktop  computers and user-friendly  modern high level languages like Fortran.  and started meeting people (new American immigrants) from various countries. It opened their viewpoints of the world. . So, the first programs for desktop systems displayed "Hello World" , instead of "Hello America & Canada!"
