I decided to record a simple tutorial on compiling and running Java code written in Notepad or any simple plain-text editor. I downloaded and installed the JDK at The video also shows how to set your Environment Path to make sure you’re using the correct version. Sorry that the program I write isn’t more exciting but I had no plan and wrote it on the spot.
The fancy IDE’s that have a play button are doing these steps in the background for you. It’s good to know and understand how it works manually.
